Yesterday Proves That Americans Value The State More Than The People

That the President rallied his supporters to commit a violent act of sedition and insurrection was apparently a bridge too far even for most of his staunchest supporters. What’s a bit less clear is the nostalgic affinity for the US Capitol as a metaphor, given how this administration had already gleefully shredded so many strong and respected American traditions before yesterday.
