Live Free Or Die– Why Not Both?

Protesters descended upon the Michigan State Capitol today in Lansing to voice their opposition to Governor Gretchen Whitmer’s extension of the state’s stay-at-home order. The protest was punctuated by a large number of Trump Pence flags and Gadsden flags. There were probably a couple hundred attendees including vehicles. One sign said, “LIVE FREE OR DIE.” I’m thinking, why not both?

Other signs decried “Gulag Gretchen,” while one man walked around with a Barbie doll on a noose that, he explained, represented the governor. Another sign had a poorly drawn, backward swastika likening the governor to Adolf Hitler. An older gentleman complained about being unable to buy grass seed.

“Change Dot Org!” one man screamed from a passing pickup truck. The Free Press interviewed one woman in a lifted truck.

“What do you want to say?” the reporter asked one woman.

Replied the woman, zealously: “Hello, Melania [Trump]! Governor, you have overstepped! We can take care of ourselves! Thank you!”

A snow squall descended upon the mid-April scene, as landscaping companies protested not being able to do business. Confederate flags were on full display, ironically in front of a Civil War monument– to soldiers who died fighting said Confederacy. This will never fail to amaze me. I’m not sure what the takeaway is here. How many Americans are willing to die for the Trump stock market rally? I am waiting to see if any of these people come down with the ‘vid.
