Greater Impact House

Greater Impact House is an art-space-in-progress on Detroit’s near-west side in the Petoskey-Otsego neighborhood. Petoskey-Otsego boasts some of the city’s most beautiful two-family and three-family housing stock, but has suffered enormously from citywide disinvestment and deterioration over the years. Detroit area artist Alexander Vlachos, who performs as Greater Alexander, bought the property in 2018, and has been renovating it. The building is a two-family that was divided into a three-family space at some point, and features the characteristic front porch, front entry doors, and asymmetrical design of most masonry buildings of this vintage.
